My name is Dakarai, but you can call me Fly. I am a San Francisco “Fillmore” native based in New York City “Harlem” area. My name Dakarai is an African name meaning happiness and perfectly fits me because I am happiest being Fly. I am the founder of Triple X Fly, a lifestyle brand committed to providing Fly essentials to your everyday person. My brand is founded on effortlessness, confidence, and being Fly. It's not fashion; it’s Fly! 

My life has been based on overcoming challenges while growing up in San Francisco. I grew up in a single-parent, low-income household with an incarcerated parent. Unfortunately, that statement is all too common in Black and Brown communities, and I had a mission to overcome this cycle. I naturally present myself in a way that feels Fly to me and coined the nickname "Fly" by my peers, who saw me as fashionable. I then started to think of Fly as more than just style, but as a mindset of being free, confident, and aiming not only for the sky but beyond. 

The year I turned 30, the world experienced the COVID-19 pandemic and fight for racial justice. I was inspired to take everything I’ve learned throughout life and apply it to something I thought was Fly. At the time, I solely wanted to gift my loved ones a shirt celebrating this milestone, and I came up with the name Triple X Fly. The meaning of “Triple X” is a play on words for roman numeral 30, and the meaning of “Fly” represents how one shows up to the world. The gift immediately became the birth of the brand Triple X Fly. 

Triple X Fly provides essential clothing items such as t-shirts, socks, etc., for everyday use. The brand is dedicated to empowering people of color, underserved communities, and youth. As I continue to grow, I am passionate about expanding my reach by providing community service, resources, and more. I am dedicated to creating a legacy and wealth for my family, community, and future generations. With utmost pride and sincerity, I aim to share my passion and where I stand in this world.
